Russ is known for fusing influences of Townes Van Zandt, Jack Johnson, Authority Zero, Green Day and Kendrick Lamar. Today his fanbase is fueled by extensive tours across North America, Central America and the United Kingdom.Today Russ is opening for bands like ROME, Ballyhoo!, Bumpin Uglies, Jakobs Castle and Joey Harkum while headlining his own tours in between. A far cry from the small town of Martinsville, Indiana where he began.

Back in 2016 Russ gained regional recognition and received his 3rd consecutive award for best Folk/Countryand overall artist in Indianapolis per popular news source NUVO magazine while leading duo Russ Baum and Huck Finn.

Next he focused on national touring and working with artists such as Moe z MD, Chris Shaffer ofthe Why Store,Adam Patterson ofthe Expendables, Jason Devore of Authority Zero, and Howi Spangler of Ballyhoo! he then co-founded pop/punk/skamericana project Meager Kings.

Russ accomplished international status in 2019 adding the United Kingdom to his tour schedule. As the world came to a halt due to Covid19, Russ switched gears and launched an interactive live stream Vodcast “On The Rise” to remain connected to his fans.

When the world opened back up in 2021, Meager Kings hit the road and by fall of 2024 had gained over half a million streams on their debut album, performed all over North America, played shows in Mexico and Hondurus, joined the 311 Sixthman Cruise ship, were featured at BMI Key West Songwriters Festival and began production of a sophomore release produced by Tye Zamora of Alien Ant Farm with performances by Ryan Moran of Slightly Stoopid.

Russ now has his focus on world recording projects in the Midwest USA and South Africa,new music releasing throughout 2026 along with a global tour schedule.
